This policy explains what information GrowDaily ("the app", "we") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. GrowDaily is an Islamic habit-tracking app. We built it around a simple principle: no ads, and we never sell your data.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect the email address and password you provide (handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service). You can also use the app as a guest without creating an account; in that case no account information is collected at all.
Habit and progress data. The habits you track, your daily completions, streaks, XP, gold, focus plans, and similar in-app progress are stored under your account in Cloud Firestore (also a Google/Firebase service) so your data syncs across your devices. A copy is also cached locally on your device for offline use.
Purchase information. If you subscribe to or purchase GrowDaily Premium, the purchase is processed entirely by your platform's own app store: Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad, or Google Play on Android. We use RevenueCat to confirm your purchase status with that store. GrowDaily and RevenueCat never see or store your card details, only the store does.
Prayer-time location (optional). Prayer times need to know where you are. You can either type a city name, or let the app detect your location. If you choose detection, the app asks your device for permission and then reads your location from GPS. Those coordinates are used to calculate prayer times, are saved to your account so your reminders stay correct across your devices, and are sent to two third-party services for that purpose: Aladhan (prayer-time calculation) and BigDataCloud (turning coordinates into a country, so the app picks the calculation method your country uses). If you type a city name instead, it is sent to Open-Meteo to be resolved into coordinates. If you contact us about a reminder or a prayer time, we may check the city and country your prayer times use, to help find what went wrong. The whole feature is optional: if you never enable prayer-time reminders, no location of any kind is requested, read, or stored. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings: Settings on iPhone and iPad, or Settings then Apps then Grow Daily then Permissions on Android.
Steps for walking habits (optional). If you link a walking habit to your steps, the app reads your daily step total from Apple Health on iPhone (which includes steps recorded by a paired Apple Watch) or Health Connect on Android, after you grant the platform's health permission. Only the day's step total is read: nothing is written to your health data, no other health information is read, and the step count itself stays on your device; it is used only to mark the linked habit as done when you reach your goal, and the resulting completion is stored like any other habit completion. The feature is entirely optional: if you never link a habit to steps, no health data is requested or read. You can revoke the permission at any time in the Health app on iPhone and iPad, or in Health Connect on Android, and unlink the habit by editing it.
Voice notes (optional). If you record a voice note on a task or on a day of one of your habits, the recording is stored in Cloud Firestore: a task's inside that task's record, alongside the rest of your task data, and a habit day's in a record of its own for that day. Either way it syncs to your other devices the same way everything else does. It is private to your account: no other user can access it, and it is not shared with anyone. Deleting the note, or the task, deletes the recording with it, and deleting your account deletes all of them.
Rooms (group challenges). If you join or create a Room, other participants in that same Room can see your display name, your chosen character, your daily progress, and the names of the habits you linked to that Room. Anyone holding the Room's short invite code can join it, so treat those as visible to people you may not know. If another member's name or content is inappropriate, you can report them or block them from the room's member list; blocking hides them from your view of that Room, and reports come to us and are not shown to the person reported.
Religious practice. Because GrowDaily is an Islamic habit app, the habits you track (for example صلاة, أذكار, or Qur'an reading) can indicate religious practice. That information is stored under your account like any other habit data, and is visible to other people only through Rooms you choose to join, as described above.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, your platform issues your device a push token (Apple on iPhone and iPad, Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android), which we store under your account so we can send Room activity notifications to the right device. Removing the app or turning notifications off stops this.
Diagnostics and usage. The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes and Firebase Analytics to record which features are used. This is aggregate product information tied to your account identifier, not to your name or email, and it is not used for advertising.
We use the information above to operate the app's core features: syncing your habits and progress across devices, unlocking Premium after a verified purchase, scheduling the reminders you've asked for, and showing your progress to other members of a Room you've joined. We also use it to help you when you contact us, for example to check why a reminder or a prayer time is wrong. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
GrowDaily relies on the following third-party services to operate, each of which processes a limited slice of your data as described above:
Your data is stored using Firebase's infrastructure, which applies industry-standard security practices. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is ever 100% secure.
You can edit or remove individual habits and data at any time from within the app. If you'd like to permanently delete your account, go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data from our systems and cannot be undone.
GrowDaily is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
